Tips on getting the sexiest eyes on the planet

Eyes have been called the windows of the soul because of how much they communicate. Eyes give your face energy and individuality. They do not have to be a certain size or shape to be considered pretty - all eyes have their own unique beauty. When makeup is applied to look natural it will bring out the eye’s true color and enhance the eye’s beauty. When you feel good about your makeup you will be more confident and will have one less thing to worry about.
A subtle application of eyeliner, shadows and mascara work together to create magic and make your eyes look their best.
Eye Shadow
Eye shadow is meant to highlight and define the eyes. Eye shadow is used to create depth to bring out the beauty of the eyes. A dark color used on the lid will make the eye appear smaller, while a lighter color will make it appear larger. That is what eye shadow is about creating illusions. These are the basic techniques for the following eye shapes:
Small eyes: Don’t use too much shadow or liner – it will make you eyes look smaller. Apply a light color on eyelid, use a darker color in the crease and use a highlighter under the brow.
Large eyes: Wear darker shadow on the lid and extend it to the crease. Use a flat color under the brow to highlight.
Deep-set eyes: Use light colors on the eyelid and under the brow. Use a medium color in the crease. Emphasize the outer corners with shadow.
Wide-set eyes: Use darker colors on the inner corners of the eye.
Hooded eyes: Apply light colors on the lid. Use darker colors from the center of the eyelid to the outer corners and blend.
Round eyes: Make round eyes longer by using color all around and extending toward the outer corners.
Asian eyes: Apply highlighter under the brow. Use light shadow on the inner half of the lid and a darker color on the

1. Light colors cause the eyes to open, dark colors will cause the eyes to recede
2. If you have very light skin avoid dark shades
3. Be careful with shimmer – they will bring attention to imperfections and wrinkles.
4. The eye area is the first to show age don’t tug on the skin.
Eyeliners:
Eyeliners are meant to define the eyes so they should do just that, not be the focal point of your makeup. Eyeliners come in various colors and forms liquid, pencil etc. Keep the eyeliner natural. Pencils are available in many colors (for the best look stick to black or brown) and can be sharpened for a fine line. For a smudged effect use a sponge tip shadow applicator or an eye shadow brush. When your pencils are too soft refrigerate them. When they are too hard soften them by holding them between your fingers.
To line the eye, start on the lower lid, just beneath the lashes. When you are finished always smudge the line with your sponge. Stay as close to the lash line as possible. On the upper lid, draw a line form the inner corner to the outer corner, thickening the line toward the outer corner. After the age of 40 keep the line in between the lashes.
Mascara and the creation of beautiful lashes:
Mascara frames your eyes and can make your face come alive. Mascara softly accentuates the eye while thickening and darkening the lashes; it is the finishing touch for eyes. There are several different types to choose from, thickening, and waterproof to smudge proof. Waterproof will need a special remover and smudge proof will wash off easily. It is not a good idea to wear waterproof mascara for extended periods of time since it has a tendency to dry the lashes.
Select a shade of mascara that complements your coloring. Dark shades on pale eyes with brown lashes will darken them and will look harsh. Stay away from blues and other colors since they will ruin your look.
Lashes that are hard to curl may need the help of an eyelash curler. Curl your lashes before you apply mascara – hold for ten to twenty seconds.
To apply mascara look straight into your mirror with your chin slightly lifted so you can see your lashes. Insert the wand only once and twist, don’t pump. Pumping can break the brush bristles and distribute the mascara unevenly and will dry out the mascara faster. Start by rolling the wand from root to tip in an upward motion. Reinsert the brush and apply again. If your eyelashes are thick and long they may clunk together. If this happens let them dry and then separate them with the corner of an eyebrow brush.

How nto lose weight

How to Lose Weight? by: Verena Veneeva
For those of us who lead busy lives losing weight can seem difficult to achieve. Health advisors suggest that a sensible way to lose weight is to increase the amount of daily exercise. In their publication, The Step Diet, Hill et al. suggest that over 2000 steps a day will significantly contribute to a reduction in weight. (Hill et al., 2004: 2). This is a useful method as it is doesn't cost anything and can be incorporated into your daily routine. Diet pills and regimes are not advisable as they can precipitate dramatic weight loss, which can cause you more problems - such as skin problems and hair loss. In the worst case scenario they can cause you to gain weight - as any sudden change in the metabolic rate can mean that when you start eating normally again you pile back on the pounds. If exercise alone is difficult then a balanced regime of exercise and reduced calorie intake - bearing in mind the maxim ‘little and often' - is a good way to approach losing weight. It is generally believed that eating three smaller regular meals, with morning and afternoon snacks in between, is the best way to lose weight. Regular eating maintains a balanced sugar level in the blood, preventing hunger and helps us to avoid overeating. This has the effect of speeding up the metabolic rate so your body breaks food down more quickly to turn it into energy. "Ideally, eat something small (even a piece of fruit) every 3 hours (women) or every 5 hours (men)" (Collins, 2005). Another timeless way to lose weight - and one that will save you money - is to increase your daily intake of water. This is important as dehydration can mean that you don't reap the full benefits of your efforts to lose weight. Enough water is considered to be at least two litres a day (Biggs, 2006). If you don‘t drink enough then your metabolism will shut down first causing your weight loss to slow right down; your digestion will suffer; and you might experience ‘fake hunger' symptoms (Biggs 2006) . It is important to remember that some people lose weight more easily than others because of their body's ability to burn fat. One of the most effective ways to burn fat is through cardio-vascular exercise which increases the heart rate sufficiently - for example, aerobics or running. This form of exercise is more effective than, say for example, weight lifting or light walking, which are good muscle-toning activities helping to reduce the appearance of fat. However, if you simply don't have time to go to an aerobics class or the space in your own home, then other forms of exercise are still effective. Jon Shepherd, from Ultra-FIT magazine, explains: "You won't burn so many calories weight training, but the potential effect it will have on your body composition and metabolic rate are significant. Muscle is the most metabolically active part of your body, burning up to three times as many calories as any other tissue type. Weights (and other forms of resistance training, like circuits) promote the development of lean muscle, boosting your fat burning potential" Source: (http://www.concept2.co.uk/weightloss/chewing_the_fat.php#2) Fitness activities and calorie burning Activity calories/hour Aerobics high intensity 520 Rowing – slow 400 Weight training 270-450 Swimming for fitness 630 Treadmill running (3.8min/km) 1000 Treadmill running (5.6 min/km) 750 Source: (http://www.concept2.co.uk/weightloss/chewing_the_fat.php#2) The above figures are based on a 65kg individual. If you weighed more then additional calories will be expended, fewer if you weigh less. The table illustrates the differences in calorie reduction between various activities. It is important to find the right kind of exercise to suit you. For most people, walking is the easiest and most effective form of exercise. Ann Bolger, M.D., a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association (AHA) says, ‘exercising is like taking the pennies from under the couch cushions and putting them into your piggybank,' in that every little bit counts.' (Meadows 2003: 18). There are many small ways of increasing the amount of walking in your day. For example, if you have a dog, or someone in your family or a friend has a dog, then try to find the time each day to take it for a brisk half-hour walk. If you're lucky to live a mile or so away from work then get up a bit earlier and walk instead of catching the bus. Even parking a bit further away when you go shopping can make a difference. So this is all about what to do outside the home. But what about when you come back from a day at work and you want to relax? You can contribute to your efforts to lose weight by the way you cook: using unsaturated vegetable oils, and oils such as corn, olive, or soyabean makes a significant difference to your fat intake. Snacks too can be swapped for healthier, lower fat options such as sesame snaps; Ryvita, or a piece of fruit. (Meadows 2003: 18). Many of us like to relax with a glass of wine in front of the TV - but there are other more weight-loss-effective ways of relaxation. Try substituting your daily glass of wine (110 calories) or half bottle (250 calories) for a session of meditative yoga. In this way you can reduce calorie intake, and exercise and relax all at the same time, and it doesn't cost you a penny. "Yoga also offers psychological benefits. As Baxter Bell, a graduate of Piedmont Yoga Studio's Advanced Studies Program, says: Weight gain often brings with it a great deal of harsh self-judgment. Through yoga, we can counteract this by creating a safe, positive environment to reconnect with our bodies and quiet the counterproductive messages that often arise in our minds. (http://www.yogajournal.com). If the traditional more-exercise-less-calories method doesn't work then look into alternative ways to lose weight. There are little exercises and tips that can take all of 15 minutes of your day - such as the ancient Chinese system of exercise called Chi Kung. A specific series of movements called the Swimming Dragon is renowned for its effectiveness in helping to lose weight. Through a series of simple movements, the Swimming Dragon works to stimulate the correct flow of chi, or vital energy, through the meridians (energy pathways) of the body. The exercise massages all the internal organs and helps to normalise hormone secretions. By practising the exercise for 15 minutes once or twice a day, it is claimed that your body will begin to naturally break down unwanted fatty tissue. (Alexander, J, 1996: 31) Lastly, weight loss is something to be achieved over time: take it a step at a time and don't expect too much. Most importantly, losing weight should be something that fits comfortably into the rest of your life and something that you enjoy.

Beautiful skin for everyone-Some valuable tips

Flawless skin, anyone?
Needless to say, there are probably tens of millions of people all over the world who would do anything to have smooth, blemish-free skin. Who wouldn't? Practically everyone dreams of having flawless skin. More especially so since during these modern times, the first thing people notice is one's physical appearance. The sad and painful truth is that one's worth is often equated with how one looks on the outside. Thus, blemishes, pimples and acne can put anyone in an awkward position.
So, how do you get beautiful skin?
Remember that there is no magic potion here. No genie in a bottle, either! Most people get good skin courtesy of expensive skin treatments and pricey skin products. Others cover their skin with layers and layers of make-up to hide their imperfections, but if you are serious in your quest of getting that naturally gorgeous glowing skin, here are some tips which may help you.
. Summon the help of the ever-dependable skin vitamins! Beautiful skin is a manifestation of good health. We are in a time where nutrient deficiency is almost a trend, a walk of life. Sadly, we are so very fond of eating junk foods, which do not contain the essential nutrients needed by our body. To correct this, we need to take a closer look at our diet and start doing the necessary changes.

What are the vitamins, which play a vital role in maintaining beautiful skin? Here they are:
Vitamin A. This vitamin repairs damaged body tissues, provides moisture to dry skin and delays the overall ageing process. Among the foods rich in vitamin A are eggs, milk, cheese, butter, broccoli, carrots, spinach and fish oils.
You may also take vitamin A supplements but essential caution should be observed since this vitamin is fat-soluble and any excess amount can be stored in the liver. Hence, there can be a danger of over-supplementation, which may prove to be hazardous to health.
Vitamin B is known to improve blood circulation and skin tone. Essential doses of this vitamin can be supplied by a number of foods such as brown bread, cereals, wheat germ, yeast, yoghurt and green leafy vegetables.
A daily supplement can be taken safely since vitamin B is water-soluble and any excess is simply eliminated from our body.
Vitamin C helps by maintaining the optimum level of collagen, the protein responsible for healing the skin. It gives skin that healthy glow and also helps keep the skin smooth and firm. Among the rich sources of vitamin C are citrus fruits, strawberries and blackcurrants. Broccoli, cabbage, potatoes and sprouts are also very good sources of vitamin C. Like vitamin B, a vitamin C supplement may also be taken daily.
. Drink up. Water helps by speeding up the elimination of toxins from our body. It is therefore essential to load up on water. For maximum results, make it a habit to drink at least 8 to 12 glasses of water daily.
. Rest. Most of the repair and maintenance of the damaged cells and tissues of the skin occurs while we sleep. So be sure to get enough rest.
. Avoid stress. There are an awful lot of damaging effects brought by stress to our overall state of health. Unfortunately, much of it shows in our face and in our skin. Stress triggers the formation of lines around the eyes and several other skin conditions such as acne and eczema.
. Protect your skin from the damaging effects of the environment. The sun, the wind and other environmental factors damage our skin. As such, we need to do our best to protect it.
Wearing a good sunblock or lotion may do. Just remember to wear one with the correct SPF every time you spend time outdoors.
. Stay away from alcohol, drugs and smoking. Say hello instead to healthy living!
